Gardner Minshew is a national treasure.
His stay on the reserve/COVID-19 list didn’t last long after the team announced Tuesday that the starting quarterback has been activated from the list. The news means Minshew is able to resume football activities.
On a conference call Tuesday, He made it clear that he didn’t test positive for the coronavirus in classic Minshew fashion.
“Did not contract the virus. It took one look at me, ran the other way. Probably in its best interest.”
The reserve/COVID-19 list is used for any player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or comes in close contact with someone who contracted the virus.
Minshew, a 2019 sixth-round pick, went 6-6 as a starter during his rookie season after replacing an injured Nick Foles in Week 1. In 14 games, Minshew completed 60.6% of his passes for 3,271 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions.
