The San Francisco 49ers are a little too well represented in Southern California for the Los Angeles Rams’ liking, so they decided to do something about it.
Tickets for next Sunday’s conference title game between the two sides went on sale Sunday, however, the Rams announced on their website that tickets will be “restricted to Southern California residents” only.
The Rams did not provide an explanation for the decision. However, when the two teams faced each other in the final regular season game of the season, there was a sea of red in the stands that turned the road game for the 49ers into a home game.
The decision did not sit well with some online, so Niners franchise icons Joe Staley and Frank Gore have offered to lend their hand to making sure as many 49ers fans as possible make it down to LA for a chance at a Super Bowl appearance.
Considering the sizable number of 49ers fans in attendance at SoFi Stadium for the last meeting between these teams in Week 18 forced the Rams to go to a silent count, LA might be hoping to avoid another disaster.
The Rams won a thrilling divisional-round game against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. The 49ers are fresh off two huge wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.
