Foster Moreau was the sickest man on Thursday night.
New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau was frustrated with his late-game drop during the team’s 31-24 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.
On third down with 30 seconds remaining in the game and down by seven points, Derek Carr had seemingly tied the game when he threw a pass to Moreau in the back of the end zone that would have resulted in a touchdown if caught. However, Moreau could not secure the pass, as the ball bounced right off his hands.
New Orleans failed to convert on the following fourth down and the Jaguars would win the game.
The 26-year-old was devastated on the sidelines as he has been through a lot. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in the offseason. Team doctors discovered the illness during a free-agent visit with the Saints. Moreau announced in March he would be stepping away from football to battle the disease.
He would then sign a three-year, $12 million contract with New Orleans in May after completing treatment, and he posted on social media in July that the cancer was in “full remission.”
