Colts owner Jim Irsay dropped some heartbreaking news on Wednesday.
Former Indianapolis Colts guard Matt Ulrich has died at the young age of 41.
“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich,” Irsay began. “Matt was with us only two seasons, but left his mark on many.
“I hear he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family.”
Details around Ulrich’s death are yet to be confirmed.
After going undrafted in 2005, Ulrich joined the Colts and the former offensive guard played a total of 10 games for the team, helping lead them to victory in Super Bowl XLI against the Chicago Bears in 2007.

Prior to his NFL career, he was named team captain of Northwestern University’s football team in 2004 and earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
In retirement, Ulrich started a fitness company and had a number of business ventures. He co-founded a body fat testing and metabolic analysis company named Dexa Fit.
