Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers raised some eyebrows around the NFL last week when he talked glowingly over Steelers coach Mike Tomlin during an interview with Pat McAfee, which took place just days before Green Bay would beat Pittsburgh 27-17.
With Rodgers unhappy in Green Bay, speculation immediately started that he might be headed there after the 2021 season. Rodgers was seen giving a cheeky smile to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and that moment went super viral during the game.
Former Steeler Bryant McFadden recently took to his podcast and bodly stated that Rodgers will indeed be the quarterback in Pittsburgh in 2022.
“It was almost like they gave each other a sign,” McFadden said speaking of the moment they had in the game.
“If a man had a football crush… Mike Tomlin’s would be Aaron Rodgers.”

However, during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfree Show,” Rodgers said he is not sending any smoke signals that he wants to go to the Steelers. “I’m just speaking the truth,” Rodgers said. “Ask me a question about Mike Tomlin, I’m going to tell you how I feel about Mike Tomlin. If you want to take that and run with it and say I’m angling for some sort of next team or something, I’m not. I’m just answering a question about my respect for Mike and what he’s accomplished in the league.”
“I’m a big Mike Tomlin fan. I have been for a long time,” Rodgers said. “I like the way that he speaks about his team. I like the way he goes about his business. I like his confidence. I’ve heard nothing but good things from guys that have played there. I like Mike Tomlin.”
After an offseason of drama in Green Bay, Rodgers made it clear in August that he’s not happy with the Packers front office and he could very well be in his last season with the franchise.
