Sean Payton doesn’t think much of the Atlanta Falcons and while he won’t be coaching next season, he made sure to take another shot at at the franchise.
On Tuesday, Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune mentioned if the Falcons can beat out the Saints for Deshaun Watson, it will ramp up their division rivalry.
“If Tulane alum, Lake Charles native and former Saints executive Terry Fontenot beats his mentor and longtime friend Mickey Loomis to the punch on a trade for Deshaun Watson, it’s going to ramp up the Saints-Falcons rivalry even more for these next few years,” Duncan tweeted.
Payton found it very disrespectful that the word rivalry was mentioned, so he used that exact word to destroy the franchise.
New Orleans went 21-9 against Atlanta during Payton’s tenure, so he’s not wrong when he mentions that the two teams did not have much of rivalry.

The last thing the Falcons would want is for Watson to land with the Saints.
