A former NFL quarterback has floated a theory involving Taylor Swift suggesting she could cash in on her Super Bowl appearance.
Boomer Esiason reckons Swift’s people must have gotten in touch with the NFL about compensation for her flight from Tokyo to Las Vegas, as well as her suite, luxury accommodation for Super Bowl 58 reportedly going for as much as $3 million.
“You gotta know that her people are in touch with the NFL,” Esiason on CBS’s ‘Boomer and Gio’ show. “And her people are probably saying, ‘If you want her at the game, you gotta pay for the jet coming back from Tokyo — and she needs her own suite.’”
Co-host Gregg Giannotti wasn’t so sure, questioning the take.
“I’m telling you, man. This is business, man,” Esiason replied. “This is all about business. How many times are we, CBS, going to show her? And are we going to show an arrival shot?
“What’s interesting is if the NFL does pay for all of this stuff, ya know, it could be like OK, we’ll take care all of that but we want to be able to shoot you as you get to the stadium, whatever. You would think.”
Asked whether this was based on something he’d heard or whether it was his own theory, Boomer admitted it was the latter.

“I think it’s my guess in this case,” he said. “I have a feeling that she is so powerful, so consuming and the metrics show you how successful the NFL has been with her being a part of it, and they can break down what they believe is her financial impact on the NFL and that number is close to $350 million in the short time she’s been around.”
Of course, Taylor would have no problem paying for her flight and suite given her status as one of the top entertainers on the planet. But she is making the NFL a lot of money; the league would probably be happy to break her off.
