Tom Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox in 2022.
His dual role as a commentator and partial owner has created ample conflicts of interest. Not to mention, he’s on the Las Vegas coaching search committee.
Throughout the NFL season, there has been speculation about Brady’s broadcast future.
Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason truly believes that he has a major conflict of interest since Brady is heavily involved in the Raiders’ coaching search.
WFAN hosts Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti both have issues with Tom Brady’s attempts to maintain a broadcasting career and a minority stake in the Raiders.
“They really are sticking to this, that Tom Brady’s gonna continue broadcasting, which, to me, is insanity if he is pulling the strings and being a major player in the decision-making of an NFL organization,” Giannoti said on Monday’s Boomer & Gio. “And then he’s calling games on top of it? It’s weird!”
“Yeah, it’s 100% a conflict of interest, but that $370 million that Fox gave Tom Brady to do this 10-year deal probably was a lot of the money that went into the Raiders, I would think,” Esiason said. “He’s made so much money in his career, and he’s obviously one of the most popular players in the history, and no matter where he goes, and if he decides to give a speaking engagement, I’m sure it’s probably for at least a half a million to a million dollars.

“And he’s pretty good when he goes into those situations, and he’s very sought after. But I agree with you. It’s a conflict of interest.
“I don’t know what the commissioner is doing. I guess the commissioner is really not gonna get involved in this. Because it is Tom Brady.”
Next up for Tom Brady is calling Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, which will feature either the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, or Washington Commanders.
Tom Brady Makes Final Decision On Broadcasting Career
Given his position with the Raiders, Tom Brady has to follow restrictions as a member of the broadcast team.
Among the things he is not permitted to do is be in another team facility, not being permitted to witness practices, and not being permitted to attend broadcast production meetings.
Many assumed that Brady would be one and done with his career in the booth as a result.
The former New England Patriots quarterback plans to stay in the broadcast booth for the majority of his 10-year contract, according to his agent, Don Yee.
“Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team,” said Yee. “And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”
Brady officially acquired a 5% stake in the Raiders upon being approved by NFL owners this past October.
For now, it appears he resigned to handle both roles. As long as he continues to do broadcastng, this will remain a storyline in his post-playing career.
