It appears Ryan Leaf was prepared to do some doxing as he called on people to go to the house of an ESPN reporter and “rough him up” simply because he disagreed with his opinion on Josh Allen’s unsuccessful 4th-down throw against the Chiefs.
The Bills lost yet another playoff game to Kansas City on Sunday, missing out on an opportunity to go to the Super Bowl with a 32-29 loss in the AFC Championship Game.
Buffalo faced a fourth-and-5 situation after the two-minute warning and had no choice but to go for it. The Chiefs saved their best defensive play for the moment, hitting Allen with a remarkable blitz that brought pressure as soon as he received the snap.
Still, he was able to throw a pinpoint pass to Dalton Kincaid that would have picked up significant yardage had he not dropped it.
ESPN’s Benjamin Solak felt like the pass was ill-advised and suggested that the QB should have thrown to Khalil Shakir on his orbit return route.
You can see his explanation below:
Here's why I think Josh Allen shoulda thrown the swing to Khalil Shakir.

Think the zone/man pre-snap tells got him off Shakir early but that's still your best option. He still makes a great throw to Kincaid that shoulda been caught https://t.co/aAOezZv8oC pic.twitter.com/BKVDvcfdEk

While Shakir was open, Allen would have had to turn and throw with a pass rush right in his face and likely wouldn’t have had the time. The throw he did mae was actually great, but Kincaid could not secure the ball for the first down.
Benjamin Solak’s Opinion Of Josh Allen’s Throw Touched A Nerve After Ryan Leaf Came Across It
Many people disagreed with the breakdown, but it seemed to really irk Leaf.
“This right here is why in full transparency you have to post your address with these,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “Someone needs to put a boot in his a**. You work at ESPN. Call Alex, call Dan, call Timmy H. Just call someone before you do this and lose whatever credibility you had. I’m serious though, someone go rough this kid up! See if he throws the orbit!”

Sure, Solak’s take probably wasn’t the best. But that’s all it was: a take. Calling for people to rough him up over it is a little extreme, no?
