Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer now plies his trade as a mushroom farmer following a pro football career in which he played for the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Plummer popped out of nowhere last summer, when his new metier came to light, and made another appearance this week. The former QB looks almost unrecognizable in the video below as he discusses the Broncos’ latest offseason moves, as well as Russell Wilson.
When it comes to being a shroom producer, Plummer certainly looks the part. You probably aren’t going to know that’s him speaking if he isn’t identified in this tweet.
Plummer was a solid quarterback during his playing days, having gotten drafted by the Cardinals at No.42 overall in 1997. Jake the Snake, as he was called, made the All-Rookie Team in 1997 and was a Pro Bowler in 2005.
He retired in 2007, with some very precise stats: 29,000 passing yards, 161 touchdowns, and 161 interceptions. He is now a mushroom farmer in Colorado and the co-founder of Mycolove Farm.
The company has been selling locally-grown mushrooms for both medicinal and culinary purposes since 2021.
