Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson has experienced a bit of good fortune lately, with the warrants issued for him back in December now withdrawn.
Peterson had two warrants issued in his name in Texas late last year after failing to appear in court for child support cases.
According to court records from Fort Bend County (H/T USA Today), the Minnesota Vikings legend recently made an online appearance via Zoom and has since had the warrants revoked. Both cases are now resolved.
The court has arranged for Peterson to pay the child support he owes from his NFL retirement savings.
“A capias was previously signed for Mr. Peterson when he did not appear in person at the last court date,” the court document reads. “OAG (Texas attorney general’s office) announced they are withdrawing the capias and an agreed Qdro will be submitted to the court.”
Peterson’s publicist said the warrants “related to a misunderstanding regarding Adrian’s court appearances as it relates to child support” after they were issued in December.

Adrian Peterson Still Facing Legal Trouble
While this is a welcome development for Peterson, it’s not the end of his legal problems. The 39-year-old made over $100 million playing pro football from 2007 to 2021 but is still dealing with some serious debt.
In late 2016, he took a $5.2 million loan from a Pennsylvania lending company and promised to pay it back in five months at 12 percent interest. He was understood to have been seeking an advance on the $18 million he was supposed to earn from the Vikings the following season, but given that he was coming off a knee injury, the team declined to pick up the option, making him a free agent.
His contracts dropped big-time after that, as he never made more than $3.5 million a year.
Peterson hasn’t played in the NFL since 2021 and hasn’t paid back the loan, which has since ballooned to over $12 million through interest.
