Fox Sports 1 analyst and former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho didn’t hold back his honest feelings on New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, calling the four-time MVP “selfish” on “Speak.”
On Wednesday, Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced that the team had opened Rodgers’ 21-day practice window. This news came just 79 days after Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles in the Jets’ season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
Acho, however, isn’t at all impressed with Rodgers’ rapid recovery timeline and commitment to getting back on the field this season.
“79 days after the Achilles, why is he coming back? I don’t think he loves his teammates, I think he loves attention,” Acho said. “Now it might be both…I think he has an insatiable appetite to hear about Aaron Rodgers.”

After 18 years with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers was traded to the Jets in a blockbuster deal ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. Rodgers restructured his contract to clear cap space for the Jets, who also landed notable free agents in Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Mecole Hardman (traded back to Kansas City last month) and Dalvin Cook.

The Jets entered 2023 with plenty of hype, but the excitement ended immediately after Rodgers suffered his Achilles tear on the team’s opening drive against Buffalo.
Without Rodgers, the Jets offense has been a disaster. 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson lost his starting job last week in favor of Tim Boyle, who fared no better in Friday’s ugly home loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The 4-7 Jets will try to end a four-game losing skid when they host the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday.
