Deandre Baker, who formerly played with the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, and most recently, the DC Defenders of the United Football League, is looking to make an NFL comeback at 27 years old.
Baker was drafted 30th overall by the New York Giants back in 2019 and was supposed to be a staple in their secondary, but those aspirations quickly went sideways.
In 2020, he was charged with attempted robbery with a firearm, along with fellow NFL defensive back Quinton Dunbar. Even though the charges were dropped, he had already been released by the Giants and found another shot with the Chiefs.
However, he didn’t last long in Kansas City, either. After just two seasons with the Chiefs, he was waived by the team in August 2022.
Even when Baker was on the field and keeping it together off the field, he wasn’t as productive as many thought he would be.

In his rookie season, he allowed 54 completions for 850 yards, six touchdowns, and a passer rating of 116.2. In his two seasons with the Chiefs, Baker only played in eight games, allowing a combined 21 completions, 218 yards, and two touchdowns.
At this point, Baker is certainly considered a bust, but he could change all that with a revived career if any team takes a chance on him.
Giants Fans Want Deandre Baker Back In New York
When someone becomes a bust for a certain team, most fans want to forget about them and move on.
However, the response to Baker has been very different. Many Giants fans have really wanted to see him back in the NFL and on the team.
“Giants should give him a shot, at least in the last pre-season game. We need a CB2 and I don’t know if we bring Adoree back,” someone commented.
“Would be a robbery if the Giants signed him back to the league minimum,” another said.
It would be a true comeback story if he could right his wrongs for the Giants.
