Former NFL player Sergio Brown, who was arrested in connection to his mother’s death, made a big decision this week.
The former Patriots safety pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to the murder of his mother.
Police said his mother Myrdle Brown’s body was found on September 16 in a creek bed near the home she shared with her son in the Chicago suburb of Maywood. The 35-year-old had been missing and fled to Mexico as he posted on his Instagram account that his mother’s murder was fake news.
He then claimed that the bureau paid him an “unwarranted” visit on “Bob Marley’s death day.” He also claimed the Maywood Police Department “kidnapped” him on two occasions.
He was taken into custody after trying to re-enter the United States into California from Mexico by the San Diego Police Department Threat Management Unit and several other local and federal agencies after a warrant for his arrest was issued in Illinois.
He could be seen talking out loud and fighting with two officers in his seat on a plane headed for Tijuana at the time.
