Matt Patricia is receiving very little sympathy from his former players on social media Saturday after the Detroit Lions relieved him of his head coaching duties.
After posting a 13-29-1 record across two-plus seasons, Patricia was shown the door on Saturday. Many former players celebrated him being gone.
Lions running back Adrian Peterson played 11 games in Detroit for the former New England Patriots defensive coordinator and had a more respectable response to Patricia’s dismissal.

“It’s a tough one,” Peterson told reporter Josina Anderson. “I honestly feel like a lot of it has to do with the players not executing. I thought he was a great coach. I just wish we could’ve won for him.”
Along with Patricia, the Lions fired general manager Bob Quinn as well. Eric Ebron enjoyed that as well.
