Getting into a physical confrontation over road rage is always silly and unnecessary. It’s especially careless to openly challenge a former pro football player to a fight.
Former New York Jets star defensive end Shaun Ellis made a living out of bursting through offensive linemen and getting to the opposing quarterback. Deciding to challenge this guy one-on-one in a street fight is simply not a good idea.
Apparently, Ellis was the person who knocked out another man below in a road rage incident that was captured on video:
Ellis was listed at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds during his playing career, and he recorded 73.5 sacks in his playing career. So yeah, he’s probably not the person to challenge to a fight.
The Jets drafted Ellis 12th overall in 2000. Interestingly, the Jets got that pick from the New England Patriots as compensation for hiring away Bill Belichick. The latter resigned from the Jets organization one day after he was hired so he could take the Patriots’ coaching position.
