A former ESPN personality couldn’t figure out why actor Ben Affleck was part of Tom Brady’s roast.
The Academy Award winner was one of the many celebrities who spoke during Netflix’s live event on Sunday night, but he opted to defend the former NFL star from internet trolls instead of roasting him like everyone else.
While some people loved the performance, Katie Nolan wasn’t sure why Affleck was involved and if he even had his wits about him.
“Can I ask, how come in sports TV we never get good Affleck? Anytime he does anything on sports TV, we get ‘Is he on drugs?’ Affleck – alleged. Just like I’m bad at telling if someone has fake hair, I’m bad at telling if somebody is on drugs,” she said on ‘The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.’
“But he did give the energy of when you kind of get stuck talking to a guy late at a wedding and you don’t realize until you get too into a conversation that, ‘Oh, this guy’s on coke.'”

Did Ben Affleck Not Want To Be At Tom Brady’s Roast?
As mentioned above, Ben Affleck spent most of his speech calling out a certain keyboard warrior who criticized Tom Brady online. Nolan doubts the person he was speaking about was even real and suggested he should have just said no if he didn’t want to be part of the roast.
“OK, then stop coming, how about that? You’re at the Tom Brady roast, you’re like the representative of the fan,” she added. “Like why was he coming at some ghost. I don’t even know, was that Twitter person real? I doubt it. I doubt he was actually talking to a real Twitter person who tweeted at Tom Brady.”
It really was a weird twist when Affleck came on, but not everyone hated it.
