If Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones truly plans to go “all in” this NFL offseason, he certainly has an interesting way of showing it.
Back in January, Jones promised that the Cowboys would “be going all in” to bolster their Super Bowl chances in 2024. Dallas hasn’t won the Lombardi Trophy nor played in an NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season.
Ever since the legal tampering period opened on Monday, the Cowboys have yet to make a single free agent signing. That prompted former Cowboys defensive end and ESPN analyst Marcus Spears to poke fun at Jones’ “All in” comments with this post on X/Twitter:
The Cowboys have already lost star running back Tony Pollard to free agency, as the two-time 1,000-yard rusher agreed to a deal with the Tennessee Titans. Edge rushers Dorance Armstrong, Dante Fowler Jr. and center Tyler Biadas have all left Dallas to sign with the Washington Commanders, too.

Future Hall of Famer and offensive tackle Tyron Smith remains unsigned, as do veteran cornerbacks Jourdan Lewis and Stephon Gilmore. Not to mention that the team has yet to extend Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott, who’s entering the final season of his contract.
Indeed, it hasn’t been the most exciting start to the offseason for Cowboys fans. Only time will tell if Jerry actually asks on his promise to be aggressive in the coming weeks.
The official league new year begins on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. EST.
