Mention the name Quincy Carter to Dallas Cowboys fans and they will remember a very dark time with the team back in the early 2000s when the team was very bad.
The quarterback out of Georgia was handpicked by Jerry Jones to be the face of the franchise to replace Troy Aikman. However, he struggled and although he led the team to the playoffs in year three, he would disappear.
A failed drug test ended Carter’s Cowboys career, he played for the New York Jets for one year and then his career was over.
The second-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 2001 abttled addiction and he has been gradually picing up the pieces of his life ever since. He would eventually choose sobriety and things have changed for the better.
Carter ended his career with 6,337 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions.
