One free agent who was hoping to get on a team might be out for the year after he got arrested on a slew of charges.
NFL cornerback Bashaud Breeland is facing multiple charges after being arrested in Charlotte on Monday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback, who played eight seasons in the NFL, was reportedly in possession of a stolen Mercedes-Benz SUV and multiple guns, which included two AK-47s. The Mercedez Benz was worth $150,000.
The 31-year-old was charged him with possession of a stolen car, altering serial numbers, altering a title, altering identification, marijuana possession, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a car for controlled substances, and possession of a stolen gun.
Breeland was released from jail after posting a $30,000 bond, per court records.
Breeland, a former fourth-round pick from Clemson, started his NFL career with the Commanders.

He signed with the Chiefs in 2019 and had 48 combined tackles, eight pass breakups and two interceptions that season.
Breeland last played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. He was signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad in 2021 but hasn’t played since.
Across his eight seasons in the league, Breeland recorded 439 tackles and 16 interceptions.
