A former NFL defensive lineman was tased during an altercation with police on Monday.
Alex Carrington, a former Buffalo Bills defensive lineman, has been arrested and booked on two criminal possession of weapon charges, resisting arrest and driving under the influence. Arresting officers state they pulled Carrington over early Monday morning for speeding and driving without headlights. Cops then suspected Carrington was drunk and asked him to get out of the car.
Carrington would not comply with that order. Things only got worse as cops claimed to have seen a gun magazine in the driver’s side door. Soon afterwards, Carrington tried to restart his car and flee the scene. That’s when cops used a taser to get him out of the car and in handcuffs.
After Carrington was tased and handcuffed, cops say they found a loaded Glock 17 “hidden underneath his leg.” He faces two criminal possession of weapon charges, resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated.
The third-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills spent six years in Buffalo before his career came to an end after the 2015 season. He had 61 tackles and four sacks in six seasons.
