Sometimes as a coach, you just gotta trust your guys. That’s exactly what Baltimore Ravens head coach Jon Harbaugh did on Sunday night, and the result was a big time win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Leading 36-35 and facing a 4th & 1 with just over a minute remaining, Harbaugh had a tough decision to make. Does he go for it and try to end the game with a first down? Or does he give the ball back to Mahomes and pray that the Chiefs quarterback doesn’t get his team into position for a game-winning kick.
It was a tough call, so Harbaugh turned to his quarterback to see what he thought. And to absolutely no one’s surprise, Lamar Jackson wanted to go for it.
So Harbaugh complied, and Jackson didn’t make him regret it, as he steamrolled his way to a first down and the victory.
Jackson finished the game with 107 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, as the Ravens secured their first win of the season.
