When these mascots put on their uniforms, do they suddenly forget that they are still adults under that suit?
That seems to be the case once again, as we have yet another instance of an adult mascot getting overly physical with some young kids during a halftime exhibition football game. It took place during the break in Cleveland last night, as the Thursday Night Football cameras caught one furry mascot wearing double-zeros putting a hit on the young quarterback and slamming his head into the ground.
The child had a helmet on, but that still had to sting a bit. Check it out:
I would imagine that the kids taking part in these games know that the mascots plan on getting quite physical. And based on what we know, the kid didn’t need any medical assistance following the hit.
Still, this footage seemed to draw a mixed reaction from the Twitterverse, with some taking the “it’s just football” approach, while others went all “think of the children!” on the dude in the cat outfit.
