The 2024 regular season is officially over. This signals a tough time for many NFL fans who enjoy watching their favorite quarterbacks strive to make history every week on the gridiron, regardless of the outcome.
For week 18, some starters suited up and played with everything they had to help their teams reach the playoffs and/ or finish the regular season on a positive note. Other teams had their backups suit up while their starters rest up for the upcoming playoffs.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ quarterbacks after week 18 of the 2024 season.
Which NFL quarterbacks have the highest grades after week 18?
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray: A-
Murray and the Cardinals may not be going to the playoffs, but the team earned an impressive 47-24 regular-season finale win over the San Francisco 49ers. Murray completed 25 passes for 242 yards, threw four touchdowns with no interceptions, rushed for 22 yards on three carries, and wasn’t sacked at all.
Murray played exceptionally well for the Redbirds, which should be a sign of hope for 2025. Hopefully, Murray and the Cardinals retool the team properly for a potential playoff run in 2025.
Atlanta Falcons: Michael Penix Jr.: B

Penix Jr. played very well for the Falcons, even though the team lost a tough and competitive 38-44 battle against the Carolina Panthers in overtime. Penix Jr. completed 21 passes for 312 yards, threw two touchdowns to Drake London against an interception, rushed for five yards on a carry, and scored a rushing touchdown.
Although we didn’t get to see Penix Jr. play much in the regular season due to Kirk Cousins playing the majority of his snaps, Penix Jr. showed a lot of promise for the Falcons moving forward in 2025. The future is bright in the ATL, with Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson, and Drake London forming a new triple threat on offense.
Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A
Lamar Jackson played another impressive game for the Ravens, helping the team win 35-10 against the Cleveland Browns. Jackson completed 16 passes for 217 yards, threw two touchdowns with no interceptions, rushed for 63 yards on nine carries, and wasn’t sacked at all.
The star quarterback played his heart out for the Ravens, avenging their week eight loss to the Browns and helping this NFL team secure the three-seed to the AFC Playoffs.
Buffalo Bills: Mitch Trubisky: B
Trubisky played an okay game for the Bills in the team’s 16-23 loss against the New England Patriots to conclude the regular season. Trubisky completed 15 passes for 101 yards, threw a touchdown to Ray Davis with no interceptions, rushed for 12 yards on four carries, and wasn’t sacked at all.
Trubisky fulfilled his role as the backup and did what he could to help out the Bills while Josh Allen rested up for the playoffs. The team hosts the Denver Broncos, which is coming to town.
Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young: A-
Young played an impressive game for the Panthers in their 44-38 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons. Young completed 25 passes for 251 yards, threw three touchdowns with no interceptions, rushed for 24 yards on five carries, scored two rushing touchdowns, and wasn’t sacked at all.
Even though Young was a bit of a late bloomer in the NFL, he showed a lot of improvement since returning from the bench in week eight and will most certainly be the starting quarterback when the 2025 regular NFL season begins. Just fix that offensive line for Young and he can potentially accomplish a lot more for the Panthers.
Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams: B+
Williams had a very good afternoon for the Bears in their last-second 24-22 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Williams completed 21 passes for 148 yards, threw a touchdown to DJ Moore against no interceptions, and rushed for 10 yards on three carries but was sacked once.
Williams continued to be the franchise quarterback for the Bears, but the team needs to invest in a strong offensive line that’ll protect Williams from getting sacked in the 2025 NFL regular season.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow: B-
Burrow had a decent game for the Bengals, helping the team win 19-17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Burrow completed 37 passes for 277 yards, threw a touchdown to Ja’Marr Chase against an interception, and rushed for negative one yard on a carry but was sacked four times.
Burrow continued to be the offensive leader for the team on the field and did whatever he could to help the team potentially reach the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Bengals’ playoff aspirations were dashed by the Denver Broncos winning 38-0 against the Kansas City Chiefs (who were resting their starters).

Cleveland Browns: Bailey Zappe: D
Zappe had a rough night for the Browns, losing 10-35 against the Baltimore Ravens. Zappe completed 16 passes for 170 yards, threw a touchdown to Jordan Akins against two costly interceptions, and rushed for two yards on two carries but was sacked once.
Zappe certainly did try, but his futile efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Browns’ woes all game long. Zappe’s future with the Browns is unknown, as he will be a restricted free agent in 2025.
Dallas Cowboys: Trey Lance: C-
Lance had an average afternoon for the Cowboys, even though things could’ve been better for them in their 19-23 loss at home against the Washington Commanders. Lance completed 20 passes for 244 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for 26 yards on six carries but was sacked twice.
Lance may not be a top NFL quarterback, but he managed the game fairly well for the Cowboys and should see a significant role as a backup moving forward.
Denver Broncos: Bo Nix: A
Nix played very well for the Broncos in the team’s 38-0 regular season-finale against the Kansas City Chiefs’ backups. Nix completed 26 passes for 321 yards, threw four touchdowns with no interceptions, rushed for 47 yards on seven carries, and wasn’t sacked at all.
Nix is the face of the Broncos’ offense from here on out and has helped the team snap their playoff drought, earning them the seven-seed for the playoffs, with a match-up against the two-seeded Buffalo Bills.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: C-
Goff played a decent game for the Lions in the team’s 31-9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Goff completed 27 passes for 231 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Jahmyr Gibbs against two interceptions but was sacked twice.
Goff might have thrown two nagging interceptions, but he did enough to keep the Lions in the game, which earned the team the one-seed in the NFC Playoffs.
Green Bay Packers: Malik Willis: C
Willis had a decent afternoon for the Packers, even though the team lost 22-24 against the Chicago Bears at home in last-second fashion. Willis completed 10 passes for 136 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for three yards on a carry but was sacked three times and lost a fumble.
Willis did what he could to help the Packers out, but the team wasn’t able to secure the win in the end. Willis and the Packers have to get focused on the playoffs and a potential run in the playoffs.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: B+
Stroud played fairly well for the Texans in their 23-14 win over the Tennessee Titans on the road. Stroud completed six passes for 50 yards and threw a touchdown to Nico Collins with no interceptions before getting benched for Davis Mills for the rest of the game.
The young quarterback played very well in his only offensive drive but was benched for much-needed rest for the Texans’ NFL playoff match-up against the Los Angeles Chargers coming to town.
Indianapolis Colts: Joe Flacco: B+
Joe Flacco stepped up for the Colts in favor of Anthony Richarson, who was out due to a back injury, as he led the team to a close 26-23 overtime win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Flacco completed 23 passes for 264 yards and threw a touchdown to Alec Pierce with no interceptions but was sacked twice.
Flacco played well and will do whatever he can to make it onto an NFL roster in the 2025 season. Hopefully, Flacco can find the right team needing a quarterback and have an NFL career resurgence like he did in 2023 with the Cleveland Browns.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Mac Jones: C-
Jones played okay in the Jaguars’ season finale, but the team lost 23-26 in overtime against the Indianapolis Colts. Jones completed 20 passes for 225 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 17 yards on five carries but was sacked twice.
With the 2024 season in the books, some teams need a quarterback, and Jones should be of service to those needy teams. However, the Jaguars should consider keeping Jones around in case anything happens to Trevor Lawrence. We’ll just wait and see what happens in the 2025 offseason.
Kansas City Chiefs: Carson Wentz: D
Wentz didn’t particularly shine, nor did he play any worse, in the team’s 0-38 shutout loss against the Denver Broncos. Wentz completed 10 passes for 98 yards and threw no touchdowns or interceptions but was sacked four times.
Wentz is in backup mode, but he should get another chance, either with the Chiefs or with another quarterback-needy team, during the 2025 NFL offseason. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens to Wentz from here on out as the Chiefs get ready for the playoffs.
Las Vegas Raiders: Aidan O’Connell: B-
O’Connell played fairly well for the Raiders in their season finale, but the team lost 20-34 to the Los Angeles Chargers. O’Connell completed 24 passes for 214 yards, threw two touchdowns against an interception, rushed for 13 yards on four carries, and wasn’t sacked at all.
O’Connell’s performance puts the team in an odd spot because they’re currently looking for a new quarterback to take the helm in the 2025 season. However, if O’Connell impresses during the offseason minicamps, he could potentially be the answer at quarterback the Raiders have been looking for.
Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert: A-
Herbert played very well for the Chargers in the team’s 34-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Herbert completed 28 passes for 346 yards, threw two touchdowns with no interceptions, and rushed for 42 yards on four carries but was sacked once.
Herbert looked incredible and will need to do everything he can to replicate his success in the regular season when the Bolts continue their charge against the Houston Texans on the road in the playoffs.
Los Angeles Rams: Jimmy Garoppolo: B-
Garoppolo played fairly well for the Rams in their regular-season finale against the Seattle Seahawks, but the team lost 25-30 in the end. Garoppolo completed 27 passes for 334 yards, threw two touchdowns with no interceptions, and rushed for five yards on two carries but was sacked three times.
Garoppolo’s days as a starter may be over, but he can still shine as a backup quarterback, whether it’s for the Rams in 2025 or with another NFL team that’ll need his services in the future.
Miami Dolphins: Tyler Huntley: D-
Huntley played an average game for the Dolphins but could’ve played better in the team’s disastrous 20-32 loss against the New York Jets. Huntley completed 25 passes for 227 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith against two interceptions, and rushed for 16 yards on three carries but was sacked four times.
Huntley played a lot better with the Baltimore Ravens as Lamar Jackson’s backup quarterback, and if he were to re-sign with the Dolphins, it would give him a better opportunity to learn the team’s offensive schemes for the 2025 NFL regular season. No matter where Huntley ends up, any NFL team will be happy with his services.
Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold: C
Darnold played a decent game for the Vikings in the team’s 9-31 loss against the Detroit Lions. Darnold completed 18 passes for 166 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for 10 yards on three carries but was sacked twice.
With the regular season over, Darnold needs to rebound from the regular season finale when the Vikings travel to the West Coast for their Wildcard showdown against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.
New England Patriots: Joe Milton III: A-
Milton III played very well for the Patriots in the team’s 23-16 win over the Buffalo Bills at home to conclude the 2024 regular season. Milton III completed 22 passes for 241 yards, threw a touchdown to Kayshon Boutte with no interceptions, rushed for 16 yards on 10 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and wasn’t sacked at all but lost a fumble.
Milton III’s production should excite Patriots fans as a reliable backup quarterback who can carry the team’s rebuilding offense in the 2025 NFL season. Hopefully, the Patriots keep him around for the 2025 regular season.
New Orleans Saints: Spencer Rattler: C
Rattler played fairly well for the Saints in the team’s 19-27 regular-season finale loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rattler completed 26 passes for 240 yards, threw a touchdown to Dante Pettis with no interceptions, and rushed for 11 yards on a carry but was sacked twice.
Rattler still has some learning to do as he dealt with a tough Bucs’ defense that made things tough for him in the second half of the game, where he threw more incompletions that could’ve been good passes. On the other hand, with the 2025 offseason approaching, Rattler will have plenty of time to clean things up for the 2025 regular season.
New York Giants: Drew Lock: C-
Lock played an okay game for the Giants, even though he could’ve played better in the team’s 13-20 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Lock completed 22 passes for 138 yards, threw a touchdown to Malik Nabers against an interception, rushed for three yards on two carries, and wasn’t sacked at all.
Lock played okay and did what he could as the backup quarterback to the Giants, but his production on the field is important for wherever he goes next in the 2025 NFL offseason, whether he re-signs with the Giants or signs elsewhere.
New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers: A-
Rodgers may have played his last game with the Jets, or in the NFL completely, but he finished on a positive note, helping the Jets win 32-20 against the Miami Dolphins. Rodgers completed 23 passes for 274 yards and threw four touchdowns against an interception but was sacked three times.
Rodgers and Davante Adams established their magnificent connection for possibly the last time and spoiled the Dolphins’ chances of making a playoff berth. Regardless of how people feel about Rodgers, he’ll still go down as one of the most polarizing athletes of all time.
Philadelphia Eagles: Tanner McKee: B+
McKee played fairly well for the Eagles in place of Jalen Hurts and led the team to a nice 20-13 win over the New York Giants to close out the 2024 regular season. McKee completed 27 passes for 269 yards, threw two touchdowns with no interceptions, and rushed for a yard on three carries but was sacked twice.
McKee played well with the backups and has the potential to be a starter in the NFL in the future. However, it would be wise of McKee to stick around the Eagles and learn more from Jalen Hurts in the 2025 season before committing to another team in the future.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Russell Wilson: C
Wilson played fairly well for the Steelers but couldn’t get them over the finish line, losing 17-19 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Wilson completed 17 passes for 148 yards, threw a touchdown to Pat Freiermuth with no interceptions, and rushed for 16 yards on four carries but was sacked four times.
Wilson did what he could to help the Steelers out, but the Bengals were too much for him in the end. The veteran NFL quarterback and company now have to focus on the upcoming playoffs.
San Francisco 49ers: Joshua Dobbs: C-
Dobbs had a decent afternoon for the 49ers, but the team lost a tough 24-47 battle on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. Dobbs completed 29 passes for 326 yards, threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, rushed for 17 yards on eight carries, and scored a rushing touchdown, but was sacked twice, fumbled the ball twice, and lost a fumble.
Not a great day for Dobbs, but it wasn’t the worst game for him, either. The 49ers season is over, and the team has to stay healthy for the upcoming 2025 season.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: A-
Despite not making the NFL playoffs, quarterback Geno Smith played his heart out for the Seahawks in their 30-25 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Smith completed 20 passes for 223 yards, threw four touchdowns with no interceptions, and rushed for 14 yards on two carries but was sacked twice.
Smith also earned an extra $6,000,000 for his performance in the regular season. Depending on what happens during the offseason, Smith should help the Seahawks return to the playoffs in the 2025 regular season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: B
Mayfield played well for the Bucs, helping the team not only win 27-19 against the New Orleans Saints but also clinching a playoff spot and first place in the NFC South. Mayfield completed 21 passes for 221 yards, threw two touchdowns against an interception, and rushed for 68 yards on nine carries but was sacked once.
Mayfield looked sharp in the Bucs’ finale and will need to get prepared for the team’s Wildcard matchup against the Washington Commanders coming to town.
Tennessee Titans: Will Levis: C
Levis played a decent game for the Titans, even though they lost 14-23 against the Houston Texans at home. Levis completed nine passes for 175 yards, threw a touchdown to Tay Martin with no interceptions, and rushed for eight yards on four carries but was sacked once and fumbled the ball twice and lost a fumble.
Levis’ time in the Music City needs to either come to an end, or the Titans need to invest in their offensive line to better protect Levis or Mason Rudolph in the 2025 season.
Washington Commanders: Marcus Mariota: B+
Mariota played well for the Commanders in their final regular season game, helping the team win 23-19 against the Dallas Cowboys. Mariota completed 15 passes for 161 yards, threw two touchdowns with no interceptions, rushed for 56 yards on five carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked twice.
Mariota replaced Jayden Daniels in the second half of the game, and thanks to his victory over the Cowboys, the Commanders earned the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs.
