The 2023 season saw some awesome offenses take off in a very productive season while other offenses struggled to stay afloat and watched their seasons collapsed before their very eyes. Other offenses came to life at the very tail end of the season and helped their teams reach the playoffs.
Here are the final grades for all 32 NFL Team’s offenses:
Arizona Cardinals: D
The Cardinals’ offense had some decent moments in the 2023 season, despite finishing last place in the AFC West. Kyler Murray returned from the ACL injury he suffered last season and did what he could with an offense lacking big-name wide receivers and tight ends. Zach Ertz was the only big-name tight end on the team before he requested his release, after suffering a quadriceps injury. The Cardinals need more offensive playmakers for Murray to work with, besides James Conner and Marquise Brown, if the Red Birds want to make the playoffs again.
Atlanta Falcons: D
The Falcons’ offense has some great playmakers in Bijon Robinson, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London, but Desmond Ridder’s inconsistent play hurt the team’s chances of making a postseason run. If the Falcons find a new quarterback in free agency or the 2024 draft, they need to part ways with Ridder and focus on whoever they select and help improve the offense, in order to win more games in 2024 and beyond.
Baltimore Ravens: A-

The Ravens’ offense was on fire, all season long, and dominated a good number of their opponents, whether they played at home or on the road. Lamar Jackson had an MVP-like year, Zay Flowers looked incredible as a rookie in Todd Monken’s offense, Odell Beckham Jr. played well as a veteran mentor to Flowers, and Gus Edwards, Keaton Mitchell, and Justice Hill looked outstanding in the Ravens backfield despite J.K. Dobbins recovering from a torn Achilles injury. The Ravens are getting Mark Andrews back for the playoffs as well. Opposing defenses should be terrified of this Ravens’ offense- come playoff time.
Buffalo Bills: B-
The Bills’ offense had some ups and downs during the 2023 season, but made a strong push in the end won the AFC East and clinched a playoff spot. Josh Allen passed the ball well, but was a better rusher, this season. Stefon Diggs led the Bills in receiving yards with 1,183 and James Cook had 1,122 rushing yards on the ground. Despite some frustration from Diggs, the Bills’ offense earned their stripes and plans to make a strong playoff run.
Carolina Panthers: F
It was a complete mess on offense for the Panthers. Bryce Young played very inconsistently. Adam Thielen was good, but nowhere as good and reliable as he was with the Minnesota Vikings, and Myles Sanders wasn’t as explosive as he was with the Philadelphia Eagles. Chuba Hubbard outplayed him and became the main running back in Carolina. The Panthers need to obtain more reliable weapons for Young to work with, if they want to be more successful in 2024.
Chicago Bears: D+
The Bears’ offense had some rough moments in the 2023 season, but they also did have some moments where they shined. Justin Fields threw 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions and scored four rushing touchdowns. Khalil Herbert and D’Onta Foreman looked decent on the ground and DJ Moore had a solid season with 1,364 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. If the Bears keep Fields, they need to find him another Pro Bowl-like receiver or tight end to work with, if they want to have a very successful 2024 season.
Cincinnati Bengals: C
The Bengals’ offense had its ups and downs throughout the 2023 season. Losing Joe Burrow hurt significantly, but Jake Browning did a decent job maintaining the offense, for the most part. Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Mixon played very well, per usual, while Tee Higgins is set to become a free agent in the 2024 offseason. The Bengals also need to focus on signing a tight end and possibly finding a replacement for Higgins, if he signs with another team for the 2024 season.
Cleveland Browns: B
The Browns offense was mediocre, at best, when they had PJ Walker or Deshaun Watson playing. However, when Watson went down, the Browns signed Joe Flacco and he had himself a career renaissance with them by going 4-1 as a starter and had 1,616 passing yards. Amari Cooper and David Njoku, both, were great on the field and combined for 11 touchdowns while Cooper had 1,250 receiving yards. On the ground, Jerome Ford played well with over 800 yards despite losing Nick Chubb to a torn MCL and ACL injury. If the Browns can keep this roster intact in 2024, this offense might cause some sleepless nights to opposing defenses.
Dallas Cowboys: B+
The Cowboys’ offense was as great, as advertised. Dak Prescott threw 36 touchdowns against nine interceptions while Tony Pollard had his second straight 1,000-rushing yard season. CeeDee Lamb was the true MVP on offense with 1,749 receiving yards, 12 receiving touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns. Offensive guard, Zach Martin, earned his ninth Pro Bowl appearance and Brandin Cooks and Jake Ferguson looked great, as well, while the Cowboys have the playoffs locked down.
Denver Broncos: C-
The Broncos offense was average, at best, but they did shine during their five-game winning streak. Russell Wilson played better than he did last year, but due to conflicts with head coach Sean Payton, Wilson was benched for Jared Stidham. Jerry Jeudy wasn’t the best wide receiver for the Broncos this season, as Courtland Sutton outshined him with 10 touchdowns on the year while Jeudy had only two. Javante Williams had some good moments on the ground with 774 rushing yards and three touchdowns. If Wilson does leave Denver, the Broncos need a new quarterback they can get on a discount, whether it’s through free agency or the draft for a better 2024 season.
Detroit Lions: B+
The Lions’ offense was everything, as advertised as they captured the NFC North crown and earned a home playoff game, for the first time since 1994. Jared Goff had a great season with 4,575 passing yards and threw 70 touchdowns against 12 interceptions while both David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs commanded an excellent ground game with a combined 23 rushing touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta also were excellent on the receiving end, as they combined for 20 touchdowns with LaPorta earning a Pro Bowl nod. This Lions team is hungry for much more than just a playoff appearance. Dan Campbell truly brought the winning way back to the Motor City.
Green Bay Packers: B-
The Packers’ offense played very well, despite some question marks around Jordan Love at certain points of the season. Love solidified himself as the new star quarterback in Titletown, despite a lack of star receivers to work with. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon did some good work on the ground, while Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs combined for 16 receiving touchdowns. This Packers’ offense also scratched and clawed their way to the playoffs, despite having no Pro Bowlers on the team. Hopefully, this team continues to build off the 2023 season with more success.
Houston Texans: B+
The Texans’ offense started the 2023 season slow, with a week one, 9-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but took the AFC South by storm with an impressive 10-7 record and a home playoff appearance thanks to the outstanding play of C.J. Stroud. Devin Singletary, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell were excellent help for Stroud, despite Dell going down with a fractured fibula. Stroud, head coach, DeMeco Ryans, and offensive coordinator, Bobby Slowik, brought a winning formula to Houston, as this young Texans franchise looks to keep on improving in 2024.
Indianapolis Colts: C+
The Colts kept their season afloat thanks to Gardner Minshew keeping the offense intact, while Anthony Richardson recovers from shoulder surgery. In Richardson’s absence, Minshew worked very well with Zack Moss and Jonathan Taylor, who commanded a good Colts’ ground attack, while Michael Pittman Jr. had 1,152 receiving yards and four touchdowns on the season. Once Richardson returns to the starting lineup in 2024, the Colts are certainly going to play better, and possibly knock on the door of the playoffs.
Jacksonville Jaguars: C
The Jaguars’ offense looked good, at some points in the 2023 season, but everything unraveled in the second half by going 3-6 after their week nine bye week. Trevor Lawrence played well, but missed a couple of games due to a sprained ankle. Calvin Ridley, Evan Engram, and Christian Kirk, all had great seasons ,but Ridley is set to become a free agent in 2024. Travis Etienne Jr. rushed for 1,008 yards and scored 11 touchdowns on the season. If Ridley departs in 2024, the Jaguars need to find his replacement, fast, if they want to return to the playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs: C+
Despite some tough losses in the 2023 season, the Chiefs came out on top of the AFC West and returned to the playoffs. Patrick Mahomes had another great season, and did whatever he could with wide receivers and tight ends- not named Travis Kelce. Isiah Pacheco rushed for 935 yards and scored seven touchdowns. Kelce did have another solid season, and earned a Pro Bowl nod, while the rest of the Chiefs wide receivers need to be scrapped for more talent. Kadarius Toney had more drops and almost had a game-winning touchdown in week 14 against the Buffalo Bills, but an offsides penalty, on him, popped that balloon. If the Chiefs want to be dominant in 2024, they need to find a couple more Pro Bowl-like receivers, for Mahomes to work with, for next season.
Las Vegas Raiders: C-
The Raiders’ offense didn’t have a great start to the season, with Josh McDaniels leading the way. Once McDaniels was fired and replaced by Antonio Pierce, everything changed. Aidan O’Connell played fair, after Jimmy Garoppolo was benched, Josh Jacobs and Zamir White carried the Raiders ground game well, and Jakobi Meyers and Davante Adams had excellent seasons, as the team’s main receivers. The Raiders need to put the work in to drastically improve, if they want to have a more successful 2024 season.
Los Angeles Chargers: D+
The Chargers’ offense had some flashes of success, but it all came apart in the second half of the season, when the team lost Justin Herbert to season-ending thumb surgery. They were humiliated on primetime in their week 15, 21-63 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Easton Stick played somewhat well, while Keenan Allen made the Pro Bowl. Austin Ekeler had a decent time on the ground, and Quentin Johnson played well, too. Losing Mike Williams did hurt during the season. Tight end Gerard Everett is set to become a free agent in 2024. The Chargers’ offense is a great unit that needs a new coach in 2024.
Los Angeles Rams: B
The Rams’ offense had a much better 2023 season, as they helped the team earn a 10-7 record and a playoff appearance. Matthew Stafford played great, as he earned his second Pro Bowl nod. Kyren Williams rushed for 1,144 yards and scored 12 touchdowns and earned a Pro Bowl nod. Puka Nacua stole the show and broke numerous rookie records and also earned a nod to the Pro Bowl. All the Rams can do, is try and improve some more, if they want to truly compete for the NFC West against competitors like the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks, respectively.
Miami Dolphins: C+
The Dolphins offense played very well against teams below 0.500, but struggled against teams above 0.500. Tua Tagovailoa threw 29 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. Raheem Mostert had a monstrous season with 1,012 rushing yards and scored 18 touchdowns. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle commanded the Dolphins’ receiving unit with over 1,000 receiving yard seasons and look to get more dangerous against opposing defenses come 2024. The Dolphins do need to improve against teams that are over 0.500, but they are trending in the right direction.
Minnesota Vikings: C-
The Vikings offense did whatever they could to stay afloat in the 2023 season, even after losing Kirk Cousins to an Achilles injury. Joshua Dobbs and Nick Mullens tried carrying the offense, as best as they could, but did have their struggles. Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, and Jordan Addison all had great receiving years, and Alexander Mattison rushed for 700 rushing yards. The Vikings lose of Cam Akers, to a torn Achilles injury, certainly hurt them, as they lost their last four games of the regular season.
New England Patriots: F
The Patriots’ offense struggled in 2023, as Mac Jones was benched for Bailey Zappe. Ezekiel Elliot didn’t see the same success he had with the Dallas Cowboys, and no Patriots wide receiver or tight end had a 1,000 receiving yard season (DeMario Douglas led the Patriots with 561 receiving yards.) With Bill Belichick gone, and with Jered Mayo coming in as head coach, look out for some serious changes coming to the Patriots’ offense in 2024.
New Orleans Saints: C
The Saints’ offense had a pretty hit-or-miss season, as Derek Carr looked great in some games, but pretty inconsistent in other games, although he threw 25 touchdowns against eight interceptions. Alvin Kamara also wasn’t nearly as explosive as he was a year ago, but Chris Olave had a strong 1,123 receiving-yard season and Rashid Shaheed played well, too. The Saints need to bring in a stronger and more youthful tight end to help Carr out in 2024, if they want to compete with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons for the NFC South crown.
New York Giants: D+
The Giants’ offense was a bit messy at times, as Daniel Jones suffered a torn ACL. Both Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito played decently well behind one of the NFL’s worst offensive lines. Saquon Barkley rushed for 962 yards while Darius Slayton and Eric McAlister played well on the receiving side. Barkley and Sterling Shepherd are set to become free agents in 2024. The Giants need to repair the offensive line, as quickly as possible, if they want to return to relevancy again.
New York Jets: D+
The Jets’ offense had a somewhat tough, but better finish to the 2023 season, even though their record was 7-10. Losing Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles injury hurt, but the team did whatever they could with Zach Wilson, who is likely not coming back to Gang Green in 2024. Garrett Wilson played very well in with 1,012 receiving yards and Breece Hall carried the offensive ground game with 994 rushing yards and 561 receiving yards. Alan Lazard struggled at times, but would’ve played better with Rodgers at center. Randall Cobb is set to become a free agent in 2024. The Jets need to fix their offensive line and find another strong wide receiver or tight end for Rodgers to work with, for next season.
Philadelphia Eagles: B-
The Eagles’ offense started the 2023 season strong, but unraveled after their week 10 bye week by going 3-5 down the stretch. They earned second place in the NFC East and made it to a wildcard spot in the playoffs. Jalen Hurts played great, but suffered a finger injury near the very end of the regular season. A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and D’Andre Swift all played excellent during the season with Brown being named to the Pro Bowl. However, losing Shane Steichen as offensive coordinator may gave hurt the Eagles, late in the season. Will the Eagles have an even better 2024 season? We’ll just wait and see.
Pittsburgh Steelers: C-
The Steeleers’ offense had a tough season, but still finished the regular season on a positive note and secured a wildcard spot in the playoffs. The Steelers ran a quarterback carousel with Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph. They need a new quarterback in 2024. Najee Harris played exceptionally well, and had a third straight 1,000 rushing yard season. George Pickens led the team with 1,140 receiving. The Steelers need to add more star-like receivers to help the offense out in 2024.
San Francisco 49ers: A-
The 49ers were an outstanding juggernaut on offense, with a plethora of talent. Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, Kyle Juszchyk, and George Kittle were all named to the Pro Bowl. Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel were just as impactful on offense, as they led the team to a one-seed in the playoffs. The 49ers look to remain terrifying for years to come with this powerful unit, striking fear in opposing defenses.
Seattle Seahawks: C+
The Seahawks’ offense started the season strong, but had some tough pitfalls to overcome as they finished the 2023 season, on a positive note. Geno Smith played well in the 2023 season, but wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl. Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, and Kenneth Walker III all were very productive, as well. Tight end Noah Fant is set to become a free agent in the 2024 season as the Seahawks look to find their next head coach. Pete Carroll decided to step down and become an advisor to the team.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: C+
The Buccaneers offense started the 2023 season questionably in the first half, but managed to turn things around in the second half, for the third straight first place finish in the NFC South and a fourth straight playoff appearance. Baker Mayfield made the best of his time in Tampa, working very well with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Rachaad White rushed for 990 yards and scored six rushing touchdowns, as the Bucs embark on their playoff journey. However, Mayfield and Evans are set to become free agents in 2024. Time will tell whether they’ll return to Tampa or not next season.
Tennessee Titans: D
It was a tough fall from grace for the 2023 Titans, as they suffered their first losing season since 2015. Ryan Tannehill suffered a broken foot and Will Levis did whatever he could to salvage the season. Derrick Henry had an incredible year on the ground, with 1,167 yards, 12 rushing touchdowns and an earned a trip to the Pro Bowl. DeAndre Hopkins was a nice addition for the Titans, as he secured another 1,000 receiving yard season. However, Henry is set to become a free agent in 2024 and it is unknown if the Titans will bring him back. The Titans do need to fix their offensive line, if Levis is the quarterback they plan to move forward with.
Washington Commanders: F
The Commanders’ offense had a very tough time staying afloat in the 2023 season. Sam Howell is not the answer at quarterback. Brian Robinson, Curtis Samuel, and Terry McLaurin played well, but the rest of the team struggled, as they didn’t win any game since their week nine victory over the New England Patriots. Samuel and Jamison Crowder are set to become free agents in 2024. The team needs to find a way to re-sign one of them, and find a new head coach to lead the team to victory next season.
