La’el Collins gave it a punchers chance, but a federal judge has denied the Dallas Cowboys right tackle’s emergency motion for a temporary restraining order and/or temporary injunction regarding the suspension handed down by the NFL, per Frank Cawley.
It was just a few weeks ago when ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Collins tried to bribe the NFL’s drug test collector, which was one of the factors leading to his five-game suspension. The Dallas Cowboys tackle claimed the NFL “clearly (misled) the arbitrator at the Hearing and the arbitrator relied on the NFL’s misrepresentations in reaching his Award decision.”
Collins has already served four games of his suspension.
The 27-year-old is in the second year of his five-year, $50 million deal.
In 2021, Collins has appeared in one game and made one start for the Cowboys. The Cowboys are 4-1 and already running away with the NFC East as they eye a return to the postseason, with hopes of competing for a Super Bowl.
