Readers at USA Today were recently asked to vote for the 10 best NFL stadiums. The intriguing results are now in.
The Seattle Seahawks’ home venue of Lumen Field (previously called “CenturyLink Field”) claimed the top spot. The venue, which opened in 2002, replaced the Kingdome that also once served as the home of the Seattle Mariners:
“Truly a locals’ stadium, Lumen Field is renowned for its fans, collectively known as “The 12s.” The experience of being amongst the throng here is incredible, as is the bountiful selection of local craft beer, Starbucks and other local coffees, and fine Pacific Northwest-centric food. The staggering views of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound, as well as complete access by public transport are also reasons enough to visit this all-around winner.”
The rest of the list (in order from second to 10): was GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City Chiefs), M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore Ravens), Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas Raiders), Raymond James Stadium (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh Steelers), Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts), U.S. Bank Stadium (Minnesota Vikings), Lambeau Field (Green Bay Packers) and SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles Rams and Chargers).
A notable admission was the Dallas Cowboys’ home of AT&T Stadium, which has long been regarded as one of America’s best sporting venues.

Lumen Field is often referred to as “The 12th Man”, since the crowd noise has proven to be a massive crowd advantage for the Seahawks over the years. In a Dec. 2013 home game against the New Orleans Saints, Seattle fans set the record for the loudest crowd noise at 137.6 decibels.
Nine months later, however, Kansas City Chiefs’ fans broke the record for a Monday night game against the New England Patriots with an insane sound of 142.2 decibels.
