Football fans are saying the same thing about Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen following the team’s heartbreaking 37-34 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Two years ago, the Bills lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime of the AFC Divisional Round in an all-time classic. The Chiefs won the coin toss in overtime and sealed the game on the opening possession, with Patrick Mahomes throwing the game-winning touchdown to Travis Kelce.
That game essentially forced the NFL to change its rules for overtime in postseason contests. The rules now guarantee that every team will get at least one possession, even if the team that starts with the ball scores a TD.
Well, Allen and the Bills started with the ball in OT against the Eagles but could only muster a field goal on their possession.
