NFL fans were making the same joke in Saturday’s contest between the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals following a costly offside penalty against the home team.
With six and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Vikings QB Nick Mullens threw an interception to Germaine Pratt that was returned for a touchdown. The TD came off the board, however, because of an offside penalty on Bengals star Trey Hendrickson:
That led to fans making the same hilarious joke which was a clear reference to Kadarius Toney’s costly offside penalty in the Kansas City Chiefs’ home loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday:

Toney maintains his belief that it was the official’s job to warn him about being offsides. Though referees will occasionally give the player a heads up about being offside, they aren’t at all obligated to do so.
