NFL fans are making hysterical jokes about Homer Simpson and the Dallas Cowboys during ‘Monday Night Football’ against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The NFL is using a Simpsons-themed alt-cast for tonight’s clash between the Bengals and Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The alt-cast includes graphics of Homer Simpson lining up behind center for Dallas instead of starting quarterback Cooper Rush.
When Rush found CeeDee Lamb in the end zone for the game’s opening score in the first quarter, fans were treated to a hilarious graphic of the iconic cartoon character throwing the TD instead:

“Homer Simpson is better than Dak Prescott,” one fan wrote.

“Putting Homer Simpson in for Dak Prescott is smarter than any move that Mike McCarthy has made all year,” joked a fan.
“Homer Simpson steals Daks job with a perfect drive to start the cowboys off with a touchdown,” another said.
“Jerry Jones is a big fan of Homer Simpson Potential @FirstTake topic tomorrow: Is Homer the best option for the @dallascowboys at QB into the future?,” a fan said.
“I feel so bad for Homer Simpson knowing he was supposed to be Dak Prescott when they planned this and he ended up as Cooper Rush,” wrote another.
Homer Simpson Isn’t Replacing Dak Prescott
Well, Dak Prescott isn’t going anywhere after signing a four-year pact worth $240 million in September. But we’ll say this: ESPN and the NFL should definitely use more Simpsons alt-casts going forward.
Like their Nickelodeon alt-casts for young fans, The Simpsons-themed one has been well-received by viewers. Why not bring it back next year?
