Football fans are calling the NFL rigged (again) following the controversial ending in the Detroit Lions-Dallas Cowboys game on Saturday night.
Trailing 20-13 with 23 seconds left, Jared Goff found Amon-Ra St. Brown for a touchdown to seemingly set up overtime. Dan Campbell instead called for the Lions to attempt a two-point try, and the first attempt was successful when Goff found Taylor Decker in the end zone.
The only problem? The officials flagged Detroit for an ineligible man downfield, as Decker apparently didn’t report eligible.
BUT…check this out. It looks like Decker indeed reported eligible to the officials before the two-point try that was called back:
A Micah Parsons offside penalty wiped out Goff’s incomplete pass on the second attempt. But the Dallas D held on the third and final try to secure the 20-19 victory.
