When does Lamar Jackson get his much-deserved new contract extension?
That topic was up for discussion again this week after the Baltimore Ravens signed a new 15-year lease at M&T Bank Stadium. The deal was approved by the Maryland Board of Public Works, according to WBAL. The new deal runs through 2037 and can be extended up to 2047 with two 5-year renewal options. The team’s current lease was set to expire at the end of 2027.
It’s nice to know that the team will be in town for many more years to come, but most fans want to know if Lamar Jackson will be there over the next few years since he still doesn’t have an extension in place.

Under the terms of the lease, the Ravens don’t have to pay rent to play at the stadium but they do have to pay operations and maintenance costs for the stadium. The franchise cannot relocate to another city under the agreement.
In 2022, Jackson will earn a base salary of $23,016,000.
Last September, Jackson reportedly rejected a contract with over $130 million in guarantees, a deal worth more than what Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray or Denver Broncos’ Russell Wilson received earlier that year.
He may be looking for a contract that is similar to what Deshaun Watson got from the Browns. He received a fully guaranteed $230 million deal. Jackson has accomplished way more and doesn’t come with the amount of baggage that Watson has.
Jackson deserves it.
