NFL fans reckon Trevon Diggs is “done” following a brutal update on the star cornerback.
The Dallas Cowboys have filled their coaching vacancy, announcing Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach. But it appears they have more to worry about, as Diggs has suffered a major fitness setback.
A former second-round pick, the former Alabama had a very productive second season after being selected by Dallas in 2020, leading the NFL in interceptions with 11 and landing a First-Team All-Pro call-up. His exploits in their secondary earned him a five-year extension worth $97 million, but things haven’t gone all that well for him since he signed that contract.
The two-time Pro Bowler suffered a torn ACL while practicing in 2023 and sustained another knee injury. He’s now in danger of missing training camp, and possibly the start of next season, with Cowboys reporter Todd Archer reporting that the player underwent a chondral tissue graft procedure on his left knee on Thursday.
“Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs had chondral tissue graft surgery Thursday on his left knee and the recovery could keep him until parts of training camp if not longer,” Archer shared. “The timing of the surgery had to do with the growing of the graft to ensure best results. Noah Brown had similar procedure done earlier in his career. It’s a more modern take on a micro-fracture surgery is the way it’s been described to me.”

A healthy Trevon Diggs has always been a secondary threat for Dallas. He has registered 215 tackles, 63 pass breakups, 20 interceptions, and two forced fumbles in his five years with the Cowboys.
