Randall Cobb thanked Nashville firefighters this week after his harrowing incident at his home.
The former wide receiver for the Packers, Jets, and Cowboys had a frightening fire at his home.
Aiyda Cobb, Randall’s wife, explained the scary situation via social media. “We are lucky to be alive,” she said. Aiyda added that a Tesla charger caught fire in the garage. She noted that the flames then “quickly spread.”
“We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet.”
Randall Cobb informed everybody that he, his wife, and three children were all thankfully safe. They were also able to get back into their home and save Louie, the family dog.

Last season, Cobb played for the New York Jets as he chose to join the team along with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom he played with for ten years on the Packers.
During his one season, Cobb played in 11 games and caught only five balls and one touchdown. He was likely to see more action if Rodgers had not gone down with a torn Achilles four snaps into the season in the opening game against the Bills.
He hasn’t announced his retirement, so he is seemingly leaving the door open for a return should the Jets or any team come calling.
Randall Cobb Releases Statement To Thank Nashville Fire Department
Free agent NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family survived a house fire that allegedly started with their Tesla charger in their garage.
On Wednesday, Randall provided an update on the situation on Instagram.
“Thank you all for the love and positive messages,” he wrote.
“First and foremost, we are all safe and healthy. We got out of the house and I was able to go back in and get our dog, Louie. We can’t thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action. I can’t get the image of the brave firefighter getting into position out of my head; he didn’t even have water to shoot yet.
“I truly thought the cars were going to explode and that we would lode him to this tragedy. He is a true hero. Unfortunately we don’t know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family. We are grateful for our incredible community in Nashville, and the support from our close friends that have given us a temporary roof over our heads and shoulders to lean on.”
