Despite what social media might think, it appears that the battle between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes will feature two quarterbacks who both greatly benefit from calls by refs.
Coming into the AFC Championship game, the Kansas City Chiefs have been billed as the goliath that needs to be taken down due to perceived favor from the refs.
Much of the discourse has to do with calls saving Patrick Mahomes.
It turns out it might be the other way around.
An incredible stat surfaced on social media that shows Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has had 101 roughing the passer calls or unnecessary roughness penalties called in his favor.
For Patrick Mahomes, he has only had 71 of those same penalties called for him.
Only one of those quarterbacks receives backlash from social media.

No NFL playoff matchup has sparked more outrage so far than the Kansas City Chiefs’ divisional round victory against the Houston Texans.
Patrick Mahomes received two controversial calls that led to ten points and made the difference in the game.
The first was a roughing the passer penalty on Texans’ Will Anderson Jr., and the second was an unnecessary roughness penalty on two Texans defenders who the refs thought hit Mahomes as he was giving himself up.
The above stat shows that Josh Allen gets not only the same type of calls but even more during games.
Josh Allen Has A Make It or Break It Game Against Patrick Mahomes
Josh Allen has a record of 7-5 in the playoffs in his career.
Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs will host Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC title game on Sunday night for the fourth postseason matchup between the QBs.
Mahomes has come on top in the first three, as his team won the 2020 AFC title game, the 2021 divisional round matchup at home, and the divisional roundup last season in Buffalo.
Everything is on the line for Allen this time around.
