NFL fans are not at ease about Super Bowl LIX following the attack in New Orleans.
The Sugar Bowl was postponed one day until Thursday following the deadly attack in New Orleans after a 42-year-old man crashed a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street and then opened fire on police.
New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said Thursday that security for the Sugar Bowl will be beefed up in the wake of a terror attack on Bourbon Street.
The brazen attack has NFL fans worried that something else is on tap for next month when the big game comes to town.
“The Super Bowl is next month in New Orleans as well. Just food for thought considering this horrific attack,” one fan said.

“i feel like i can’t even think about wrestling right now. i know i don’t live close to new orleans but this could potentially be an insanely scary situation for everyone,” another concerned fan added.
Im ngl this shit is hella wild rn. New Orleans is literally hosting the Super Bowl. I was thinking about going there if the Ravens go but nahhh I dont think I’ll be attending any big events this year,” a fourth fan added.

A fifth fan added: “Most people probably aren’t thinking about this, but the Super Bowl is in New Orleans in a month. I really hope & pray this wasn’t a “test run.”

One final fan summed it up: “Whoever was behind this terrorist attack in New Orleans knew exactly what they were doing. Not only is the Sugar Bowl tonight, but in one month, the Super Bowl will also be held in New Orleans. This attack will keep the American public’s eyes firmly entrenched in potential terrorist attacks. Just wait for the coverage during the Super Bowl. Everyone is going to be on high alert.”

New Orleans Police Official Eases The Worries of NFL Fans Ahead of Next Month’s Super Bowl
New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick knows fans are worried after a crazed terrorist with an ISIS flag drove a pickup truck into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Day in the French Quarter and then opened fire on police.
He killed 15 people, which includes himself, since people were forced to gun him down after he started shooting at them.
The Sugar Bowl was set to be played in New Orleans’ Superdome on Wednesday evening, but had to be postponed until Thursday.
The College Football Playoff quarterfinal game between Georgia and Notre Dame will take place on Thursday at 3 p.m. Central time at the Superdome, home of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints.
The Superdome will also be the same place where Super Bowl LIX will be held.
New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick stated that fans “Should plan on coming” to the big game in February.
“Like the Sugar Bowl, today will be held this afternoon. We here in New Orleans have proven time in and time out that we can provide safe environments. Look at Taylor Swift (concert) that was just a few weeks ago – incredible environment of fun, incredible environment where they can some and know they’re safe. We have plans.
“This is a terrorist. The terrorist is going to be hellbent, no matter what, to create carnage and to destroy, but we as a city and as a law enforcement community have already proven over time that we can handle and manage these large crowds.”
