Robert Griffin III was one of the best quarterbacks in 2012, or so many analysts and fans thought; however, that was not the case. The fact that he ended up in Washington was not the start of the career that he wanted.
Before retiring to become an analyst, Griffin would go on to play for two more teams. He would enjoy some time as a backup in Cleveland and Baltimore and retire in 2020 to join ESPN as a college analyst in 2021.
Griffin has some experience under center as a quarterback, so he called out Justin Herbert for his subpar playoff performance on Saturday. However, some fans thought the call-out wasn’t in the right taste.
According to many fans online, Griffin was trying to “race-bait” fans on X after claiming that Herbert doesn’t get as much criticism as quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott. The only difference between the two signal callers and Herbert is their race.
The national media better hold Justin Herbert accountable for his playoff performances like they do to Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott.

Robert Griffin III Is Being Slammed On Social Media
Herbert’s performance was less than par as he didn’t even complete half his passes and threw four interceptions in the game after only having three all regular season. The criticism may have been warranted, but fans quickly jumped on RGIII.

“All QB’s are held accountable black or white RG III you are better then that,” said one fan.
“Dude has no weapons. Why hold him to the same level of accountability? Makes no sense,” added another.
“RG3 – I’ve had about enough of you and your safe spaces and your race baiting ridiculousness. Just STOP IT,” said another user.
“C’mon Robert, damn does everything have to be about race,” asked one fan.

If so I hope the Browns are holding Deshaun Watson to the same standard as they held Baker Mayfield. I mean, Watson already had NFL experience, right? If anything, he should be held to a higher standard than they used…
“Not sure the need to throw Herbert under the bus to make this argument,” questioned one user.
“Why did you pick Herbert, Lamar and Dak……..what are you really trying to say,” asked another fan.
“Wow! Lost all respect for you. You played your cards….” said one annoyed fan.
One fan even asked the former NFL signal caller, “Do you ever say anything that isn’t racially motivated?“

While it’s unclear whether or not the comment was racially motivated, there is an argument to be made that Herbert’s supporting cast is 100 percent the worst of the three. It will be interesting to see how Griffin responds to this one.
