Refs during the Commanders and Saints game nearly caused a major issue with a terrible call late in that contest.
Washington snuck past New Orleans with a 20-19 final score on Sunday afternoon, but the refs almost prevented it.
The game came down to the final seconds as quarterback Spencer Rattler and the Saints offense marched down the field to take a much-needed victory late in the fourth quarter.
Trailing the Commanders 20-13, Rattler completed a pass to tight end Foster Moreau inside the five-yard line as the clock ticked down from ten seconds.
However, for some unknown reason, the line judge signaled for the clock to be stopped, which it did at nine seconds for about five seconds.

It then began to run again as the Saints offense rushed to the line to spike the ball. The game should’ve been over, and the Commanders should’ve won.

Instead, Rattler was able to spike the ball with three seconds remaining on the clock.
From there, the Saints quarterback completed a touchdown pass to Moreau, making the score 20-19.
Commanders fans were rightfully upset over the clock stopping for no reason and screwing their team.

“Bunch of terrible calls by refs throughout game, highly questionable from that ref squad,” a fifth guy added.
One final fan summed it up as he pointed to a previous screwup: “They stopped the clock and gave them a free 20 yard pass to a TE running only 1 second off against the bears too…NFL getting sloppy rigging these games for bad teams 😂”

The Commanders May Have Defeated The Saints, But The Refs Likely Still Screwed Bettors
In the final seconds of their Week 15 matchup, the New Orleans Saints were driving down the field against the Washington Commanders and received extra time to score a last-second touchdown that should’ve never happened.
Washington ultimately won the game, but the allowed score likely screwed bettors.
The spread had the Commanders -8. At the time of the game, when the Saints got more time, they were winning 20-11.
