NFL fans are calling Dak Prescott out over what they believe to be a blatant lie.
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback is entering the final year of his contract and will likely secure a hefty sum after the 2024 season while also resetting the QB market.
The former Mississippi State star insists he isn’t worried about his contract negotiations with the team and doesn’t even care about the money he’s paid to play football.
“I don’t play for money,” he said, per Patrik Walker of the Cowboys’ official website. “I have never cared for it, to be honest with you. Yeah, I would give it up just to play this game.”
Obviously, fans don’t believe a word of this and have hit out at Prescott online over what they’ve labeled as “cap.”
“Then take the vet league minimum. I’ll wait,” a user said in the comments.
“He plays for first round playoff exits, obviously,” another joked.

Dak Prescott Has Little Reason To Be Worried
Dak Prescott isn’t worried about his contract negotiations, but it’s probably not because he doesn’t care about money.
He is fully aware that, given the no-tag and no-trade clauses in his current deal, he has all the leverage.
The QB is responsible for $55.4 million against the salary cap but would still count for $40.14 million against the cap, even if he doesn’t re-sign with the team.
“Business is business,” he added. “I’ll leave it where it gets handled. Right now, it’s about being my best for this team right now, in this moment, in OTAs and helping these guys out. I’m just focused on that and I know my business will take care of itself. I’ve been in [this situation] before, so I’m experienced and just controlling what I can right now.”
