The Jacksonville Jaguars are more than happy with having Trevor Lawrence as their franchise, so they decided to reward him with a mega extension.
On Thursday, the team agreed to terms on a record-tying contract extension with the signal caller.
The quarterback agreed to a five-year, $275 million extension with the team, which includes a $200 million guarantee.
Fans took to the comment section to blast the Jacksonville Jaguars for overpaying Trevor Lawrence since he was billed to be the next generational quarterback and hasn’t produced anything close to it.

Last year was a rough year for Trevor Lawrence. He battled through a number of injuries that eventually led to him missing the first game of his career after 49 consecutive starts.
His numbers would suffer as he racked up 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while completing 65.6 percent of his passes and taking 35 sacks, per ESPN.com.

Last season seemed to be a turning corner for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They started the year 8-3 and looked very much like a Super Bowl contender that could go head-to-head against the Kansas City Chiefs. This start to the season came on the heels of their 2022 playoff berth and improbable comeback win against the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round.
Unfortunately, they went from contender to pretender as they had a four-game losing streak and finished 9-8 on the year. They would allow the Houston Texans to win the AFC South, and the Jags missed the playoffs following a Week 18 loss against the lowly Tennessee Titans.
