With Travis and Jason Kelce set to make history as the first brothers to play against each other in a Super Bowl, fans have a genius idea to make it even more special. They want to get their mom, Donna, involved in the game as well.
A petition started on Change.org is asking that the NFL allow Donna to do the coin toss before the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles square off in Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12.
“What a great way to show the Super Proud mama some Amazing Appreciation and Love while giving her a once in a lifetime opportunity,” the petition reads.
As of this writing, more than 23,000 fans have signed the petition.
On Wednesday, Donna spoke on her sons’ getting ready to face each other in Arizona.
“They’ve already got the first win under their belts, so this is just going to be pure joy,” she said. “We’re going to really enjoy this, have a great time. Obviously, there’s going to be somebody that’s going to go home heartbroken. They won’t have the bragging rights at the Thanksgiving table, but this is going to be an awesome event and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Travis Kelce caught 7-of-8 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City’s AFC Championship game win over the Bengals.
