Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run incident that saw a 65-year-old man struck and killed outside Highmark Stadium Monday Night.
The incident took place right as the Bills game with the Broncos was kicking off inside the stadium as cops responded near the stadium for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
The Rochester, N.Y., resident was found lying in the street as witnesses reported having seen a vehicle hit the man and speed off. The 65-year-old succumbed to injuries after emergency services attempted to save his life.
Police said they found the suspect vehicle in the city of Buffalo later but had not found the driver at that time. It would later be announced that an Amazon delivery driver has been charged for that hit-and-run crash.
32-year-old Khairullah Hasein has been arrested and charged. He was making deliveries for Amazon at the time of the deadly crash and kept delivering packages after the accident, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said, according to the Buffalo News.
Hasein has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, a felony.
Less than two hours after that incident, another man was hit by a vehicle one mile from the stadium. The man was seriously injured, police said, and was taken by ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center.
