Many families have different traditions and superstitions that they partake in while watching their favorite sports team. One family who is a big supporter of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins have a custom in which every time the Dolphins score a touchdown, they would celebrate by downing a shot of tequila.
With the Dolphins having a potent offense over the last couple years, the family was used to taking about 3-5 shots on any given gameday. However, things got a bit out of hand on Sunday when Miami scored a historic 10 touchdowns during an extraordinary beat down of the Denver Broncos with a final score of 70-20.
Ten shots of tequila over the course of just a couple of hours would be much too many for the average person to handle, so they took to social media to ensure everyone that they were being safe and drinking responsibly while enjoying the most points scored in an NFL game since 1966.
The Dolphins set a number of offensive records on Sunday including being the first NFL team to ever score five passing and five rushing touchdowns in the same game, as well as the only team to ever have at least 350 rushing and passing yards in the same contest. Miami’s 1,651 yards of offense is also a record for most yards through a teams first three games of the season.
Miami and its dominant offense attack will look to continue its historic start to the season when they travel to Buffalo in week four in a heavyweight AFC East matchup against the Bills which is shaping up as one of the more anticipated games of the 2023 NFL season. The over/under for the game is currently set at 53.5, but that number could rise after what the Dolphins accomplished on Sunday.
