Britt Reid is still able to wake up in his home free as a bird for over a month since the former outside linebackers coach with the Kansas City Chiefs and son of head coach Andy Reid crashed into a car before rear-ending the other.
That second car, was carrying five-year old Ariel Young and another child. Both were hospitalized.
5-Year-Old Ariel Young wouldn;t wake up out of a coma until two weeks later. Her lawyer, Tom Porto, says she remains unable to talk or walk, and has likely sustained brain damage that will affect her for the rest of her life.
Her family recently updated their GoFundMe that asked how Britt Reid has still not been arrested for what he did.
“Ariel remains in the hospital, she is getting a little better each day but she still has a long road to recovery. Britt Reid is out everyday living his normal life while she cannot, please don’t let her story be forgotten. Court will take a long time and we don’t know what will be the outcome of it all. So please keep sharing her story and praying for her and the family. Thank you.”
The 35-year-old Reid told officers he had two to three drinks as cops observed signs of impairment, after which Reid complained of stomach pain and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
