This is not a good sign.
Over the 2020 offseason, Todd Gurley was cut by the Los Angeles Rams, who decided it was better to cost themselves $20.15 million in dead money, second-most in league history. It left him off the roster less than two years after signing a four-year extension, which was set to begin in 2020.
Less than a day after being cut by the Los Angeles Rams, the star running back would find a new home to possibly reinvent himself with a deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Things are starting bad already.
According to Vaughn McClure of ESPN, Gurley “walked with a noticeable limp and wore a compression sock on his left leg, yet he showed speed and explosion during drills.”
Head coach Dan Quinn hinted that he’s considering limiting Gurley’s workload to ensure he’ll be healthy throughout the 2020 season.
The 26-year-old is working on a one-year, $5.5 million contract, but it remains to be seen if he can stay healthy and productive.
