This year’s NFL Draft is loaded with wide receiver talent. The only thing that wasn’t clear like in past years was who the consensus best amongst those receivers was perceived to be.
Music artist Drake decided to try his luck and placed his bet on USC’s Drake London to be the first off the board when the draft started. It paid off for him as he made $335,000 when London was selected eighth overall by the Atlanta Falcons.
When reporters brought it up to London, his response showed how much he truly did not care.
“My friends were hitting my phone saying Champagne Papi bet on me, so I thought that was funny,” London said.
In total, six receivers were taken in the first round.

London emerged as a highly coveted receiving talent who earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year honors in his final season with the Trojans. The 6-foot-4, 219-pound receiver recorded 88 catches for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 12.3 yard per reception.
London also led the FBS in contested catches with 19 receptions.
“I just felt like I wanted to be in Atlanta at the end of the day,” London explained. This is where I wanted to end up. … We’re moving in the right direction, and I can’t wait to go out there and put on that jersey and just be a dirty bird at the end of the day.”
Drake, the worldwide known rapper, and singer was going to be insanely rich with or without that bet. Everybody won.
