The Deshaun Watson suspension was finally handed down on Thursday and the Cleveland Browns QB will be suspended 11 games and fined $5 million after he was accused of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women.
Watson will undergo “a professional evaluation by behavioral experts and will follow their treatment program,” according to the agreement.
“I’m moving on with my career and my life, and I’m going to continue to stand on my innocence,” Watson told the media Thursday. “Just because settlements and things like that happen, doesn’t mean that person is guilty for anything.”
He added, “I feel like the person has the opportunity to stand on his innocence, and prove that, and we proved that on the legal side, and we’ve just got to continue to push forward as an individual and as a person.”
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who is serving a full-season suspension for gambling on the NFL, would soon take to Twitter and drop a cryptic tweet about his situation.
“2023 Calvin Ridley!!!!” he said on Twitter.

The Falcons’ star is indefinitely suspended by the NFL after he was found to have placed bets on regular-season games last year while away from the team. Ridley reportedly placed around $1,500 in parlay bets, including bets on the Falcons.
Ridley’s suspension is expected to last the entire 2022 NFL season, and when comparing his crimes to that of Watson’s, it’s hardly in the same class.
In 2021, Ridley appeared in five games for the Falcons and caught 31 passes for 281 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
