I guess you could argue that Paolo Banchero might be able to pass for a 6-foot-10 version of Patrick Mahomes. But that didn’t make it any less hilarious to see Formula One trackside reporter Martin Brundle chase down the 2022 NBA Draft Prospect, thinking he was the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl winning quarterback.
The celebrities were out in full force for today’s Miami Grand Prix, so Brundle had his work cut out for him as he made his way through a busy pit row before the start of the race.
At one point, Brundle spotted a the tall Duke star in a distance. Thinking it was Mahomes, he made every effort to track Banchero down and ask him some questions. It wasn’t until mid-interview that he realized the man he was talking to was NOT Patrick Mahomes. Hilarity ensued from there.
You’ve got to appreciate Brundle’s honesty once he realizes he’s not interviewing Mahomes. He could have easily played along, but instead he decided to confess and move on.
