About a week before the playoffs were set to start, social media got into a frenzy after it was revealed that Walt Anderson’s crew got the late Saturday game featuring the Seahawks-Cowboys.
Walt Anderson and his officiating crew was under the spotlight again for a non-call that affected the Dallas Cowboys victory over the New Orleans Saints earlier this season. Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith looked to have launched himself into the helmet of running back Alvin Kamara, but the seeming infraction was not flagged by any of the personnel on the field.
About an hour before the game, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott’s mother took to Twitter and posted a photo of the refereeing crew posing along with Roger Goodell, which wasn’t a problem, but her caption was quite problematic.
