On Tuesday, just about every single local news crew in Dallas was at the airport to greet Ezekiel Elliott as he got off the plane amid contract negotiations.
Ezekiel Elliott’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, was also on that flight and told reporters on Tuesday that a deal with the Cowboys is “very, very close.”
“I think Zeke showed his commitment by coming back to Dallas. We didn’t come here not to do a deal. So I think he’s committed. Both sides are,” Arceneaux said, per Jon Machota.
There have been reports that his new deal might be a 6-year, $90 million deal, the type of deal Zeke and his agent has been looking for they would make him the highest paid player at his position.
Elliott rushed for 1,434 yards on 304 carries to go along with 77 receptions for 567 yards receiving and nine touchdowns last season.
